UN Secretary-General António Guterres calls for increased climate finance in Caribbean

UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for 50% of the total share of climate finance to be spent on building resilience and adapting to the effects of a warming world. He added that existing catastrophe-triggered financial instruments such as the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF)  should be scaled up, pointing out that: “For every dollar invested in climate resilient infrastructure, six dollars can be saved.”’
