Two solar project tenders launched in Dutch Caribbean

Two Dutch Caribbean islands have launched tenders for solar projects. Curaçao’s power utility Aqualectra issued a tender for the construction of a solar project with a capacity of 10 – 15 MW. The utility Saba Electric Company, the provider of power for Saba Island, released a tender for a 1 MW solar park with 1.5 MWh storage system.

Aqualectra’s 10-15 MW solar project will consist of commercial rooftop PV across the island. Interested developers should send their request for prequalification by December 16.

The first solar park of the Dutch Caribbean was inaugurated in November. The 4.1 MW project, located on the island of St. Eustatius, was fully funded by the Dutch government and combined with a 5.9 MWh storage system.
