Trinidad and Tobago has initiated the onshore “Wind Resource Assessment Programme (WRAP)” by deploying Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) devices at Orange Valley and Galeota to measure wind data for the next 12-18 months. This project marks the first step towards wind energy development in the country. The successful deployment follows a consultancy supported by the European Union and is a result of the collaboration between the Ministry of Energy, T&TEC, and the National Energy Corporation.
