Trinidad and Tobago has successfully deployed LiDAR devices in Orange Valley and Galeota to measure wind data for the onshore Wind Resource Assessment Programme (WRAP), marking a milestone in its renewable energy journey. Supported by the European Union and coordinated by the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries (MEEI), the initiative aims to achieve the country’s 30% renewable energy target and lay the groundwork for a green hydrogen industry. The Wind Energy Steering Committee (WESC), led by MEEI, will oversee further assessments at three additional sites in 2025, with plans to attract investors and project developers for wind energy deployment.
