Bolivian Legislature approves construction of 50mw solar system

Last Thursday, Bolivia’s Legislative Assembly approved the construction of a 50 MW solar system by the state-owned utility Empresa Nacional de Energia’s (ENDE). The project will be supported by 67 million USD in funding from the French Development Agency (AFD). Once completed, the PV plant will generate 106 Gwh annually. Read more here.
Guyana launches energy project

In an effort to electrify the 80% of rural areas in Guyana that have no electricity, Guyana’s Ministry of Public Infrastructure, the Multilateral Investment Fund and CARISBSAVE have partnered to implement the Sustainable Business Models for Rural Electrification and Energy Access project. BOEM gets third 400-MW floating wind lease request off Hawaii

The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management received a lease request for a 400 MW floating wind energy project from Progression Hawaii Offshore Wind. After reviewing the request, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management found that the company is qualified to pursue the lease.
Dominican Republic adds 49.5 MW of wind

Empresa Generadora de Electricidad Haina SA inaugurated a 49.5 MW wind park in the Dominican Republic. The project, which cost 120 USD and took 18 months to construct, consists of 15 wind turbines.
