    Central America power interconnection commission CRIE has approved a request from Hidroeléctrica El Volcán to connect the 192MW El Tornillito hydro project to the regional transmission network  in Honduras.   Source

  • Costa Rica launches national hydrogen strategy with IDB support

    December 7, 2021

    Following the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), Costa Rica officially presented its National Hydrogen Strategy, which will cover industrial processes with the aim of integrating all initiatives from the private sector, academics and all the actors involved. The program will have significant financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Japan.   • Iberdrola and H2 Green Steel to build a green hydrogen plant

    Global energy and electricity provider Iberdrola and Swedish green steel startup H2 Green Steel (H2GS) announced an agreement to build a 1,000 MW plant for the production of green hydrogen, with an estimated investment of 2.3 billion euros.  Source (in Spanish)
