The IDB approves loan for US$200 million to electrify rural communities in Bolivia

The IDB approved a US$200 million dollar loan in support of a Bolivian program that works to universalize electric energy service, specifically in rural areas. The program will use different technologies to supply electricity, including the installation of solar plants, the extension of distribution networks, construction of mini-grids with hybrid renewable energy systems and energy storage and smart metering.
