Sucro Ltd. and Santander Sugar Ltd. have formed a 50/50 joint venture, Caribbean Sugar Refinery Ltd. (CSR), to build a US$20 million sugar refinery at Santander’s mill complex in Belize, with operations expected to start in 2026. The project, supported by the government of Belize, aims to meet more than 75% of CARICOM’s refined sugar needs.
