Statkraft AS has been granted environmental approval for its Parina project, a 185 MWp solar farm with a battery energy storage system (BESS) in the Antofagasta region of Chile. To address concerns from indigenous communities, the project design was adjusted to avoid disrupting traditional cattle drive routes, recognized as local cultural heritage. Initially proposed as a 248 MWp solar farm, the project was scaled back following community feedback.
