Anita has twenty years of experience in development financial institutions. She started her career in the social area of BNDES, where he worked for the development of the microcredit market in Brazil. Then, she worked as an operations officer at Development Alternatives Inc., at IFC, and at the World Bank, always with projects focused on small and micro-enterprise development and innovation. At IDB Lab she is currently responsible for supervising venture capital funds and direct loans in Brazil, Chile, Central America, and the Caribbean that focus on topics such as bioeconomy, sustainable aquaculture and cleantech. Anita has a Master’s in Finance from Johns Hopkins University, a Master’s in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, and a BA in Economics from UFRJ.
