Solar self-consumption installation in Costa Rica provides significant energy cost savings

After two months of entering into operation, Cobybsa’s 24 kWp solar PV installation has saved the Costa Rican company 90% of their electricity consumption bill.

Over 75 solar panels and two inverters were installed by solar power provider company Sunshine over the course of three months.

Sunshine monitors, operates and maintains the solar PV installation. Sunshine  is a Costa Rican subsidiary of the renewable energy pioneer Losko, which installed its first hydroelectric power plants in 1998 in Costa Rica.

“We were initially sceptical about the project and its estimated savings,” said Adrián Bolaños, General Manager of Cobybsa. “We are very happy with the process, from the first day to the project entering into commission. After two months, results surpassed our expectations. We have achieved 90% of savings on our electricity bill, it’s incredible!”
