RWE AG, the German energy group, has submitted a project proposal for a 257 MWp solar farm along with a 255.4 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) in Chile. The project, Los Durmientes, has been accepted for environmental evaluation by the environmental authority of the Antofagasta region. RWE plans to invest approximately US$300 million for its construction, which is scheduled to begin in October 2025.
