RFP issued for five solar-plus-storage resiliency hubs in Puerto Rico

The Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC), with support from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez, has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for the installation of five solar-plus-storage resiliency hubs in underserved communities in Puerto Rico. This project, aimed at providing reliable electricity during and after natural disasters, is part of a multi-year commitment by the U.S. Department of Energy. The hubs will feature solar systems with a capacity of 5 kW and battery energy storage systems (BESS) with 13 kWh capacity, with maintenance plans required for optimal operation over the next three years.
