Renewables Investment in Cuba Expected to Hit $6 Billion in Upcoming Years

Renewables investment is set to skyrocket in Cuba.

As the Caribbean’s largest supplier of renewable energy, the US is poised to work with Cuba to transition away from fossil fuels. Biofuel, biomass, hydroelectric, wind and solar are some of the green energies that Cuba will tap into over the next years.

Energy-efficiency and energy-savings programs as well as energy storage options will also be key components to achieving Cuba’s goal of sourcing 24% generated capacity from renewables by 2030.
