Positive progress report for geothermal plant in Nicaragua

Polaris Infrastructure announced in their 2018 Year End Results that the San Jacinto geothermal project in Nicaragua reached its highest annual power generation and revenue, and that the construction and stabilisation of a new well was a success.

Polaris Infrastructure is a Canadian company engaged in the operation, acquisition and development of renewable energy projects in Latin America.

The total generation at San Jacinto was of 543, 312 MWh in 2018, an increase from 490,765 MWh in the previous year. This increase in power generation led to a higher revenue, of over 14.5%, to USD 68.8 million from the San Jacinto project. The successful drilling and testing of a new well on the project site was also an important for the company.
