Orygen, backed by British fund Actis, has begun construction of the 94.22 MW Wayra Solar plant in Nazca, Peru, as part of the country’s first large-scale hybrid wind-solar complex. The US$71.8 million project will integrate with the existing Wayra I and Wayra Extension wind farms, bringing the total capacity of the Wayra Renewable Energy Complex to over 400 MW. Commercial operations are expected to begin in late 2026, with the hybrid facility projected to supply clean energy to approximately 230,000 households.
