Opdenergy secures environmental approval for US$240 million solar-plus-storage project in Chile’s Atacama region

Opdenergy has received environmental approval for its US$240 million Don Carlos solar-plus-storage project in Chile’s Atacama region. The 235-MWdc solar farm is paired with a 64-MW/320-MWh battery system and will generate about 530 GWh annually. Construction is slated to begin in February 2026, with the facility connecting to the national grid via a new substation and transmission line.
