Nicaragua announced it has secured funding for the installation of a 50MW solar PV plant.
This project is led by the Ministry of Energy and Mining, Enatrel. The plant’s capacity could reach 100MW after the project’s second phase.
No details have yet been released in regards to the exact amount of capital to finance the project, however Enatrel did specify the capital will be provided by Israeli investors.
Over 170 000 panels will provide energy and be connected to the San Benito sub-station. This solar plant will be the fourth large-scale solar energy in project Nicaragua to be constructed.
