New report analyses the importance of resilience for DERs

Convergence have announced the release of a new report ‘The Value of Resilience for Distributed Energy Resources’.

The report was prepared for the US National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC). Distributed energy resources (DER), such as microgrids, solar photovoltaics, and storage, can contribute to a more resilient and secure electric grid. The report examines methods for incorporating the energy resilience value of DERs into investment decision-making.

Funding for the report was provided by multiple organisations, including the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office.

The paper is part of a broader project by NARUC under the Solar Energy Innovation Network that focuses on the value of resilience and its use in state policymaking.
