Montserrat broke ground on the US$46 million Montserrat Port Development Project, financed with a US$36 million in grant funding by the UK aid through the United Kingdom Caribbean Infrastructure Fund (UKCIF), administered by the Caribbean Development Bank, and US$9.2 million from the Montserrat government. The new port will increase accessibility and improve trade opportunities for the island.
