The Icelandic Drilling Company, contracted by the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID), has offloaded their drilling equipment at the site of the third well in Monserrat and drilling will begin soon. It has taken longer than anticipated to prepare the site, as the terrain was rough, rocky and covered in layers of deposited ash. The previously dug geothermal wells are now capped.
