Martinique to host the Caribbean’s first offshore floating solar project with SolarinBlue partnership

The Grand Port Maritime of Martinique has partnered with French developer SolarinBlue to create Soley Blé, the first offshore floating solar project in the Caribbean. Located near the Pointe des Grives terminal in Fort-de-France Bay, the 1–4 MWp project will enhance the port’s energy independence and reduce its carbon footprint as part of Martinique’s broader decarbonization goals. Technical, environmental, and regulatory studies will begin this fall, positioning the initiative as a pioneering model for marine renewable energy in island regions.
