Macquarie Mexican Infrastructure Fund (MMIF) will supply solar power to government and the private sector in Mexico. As the first managed fund in Latin America, it will buy a 22.5 MW solar project in Coahuila for about MXN 758 million (USD 41m). This represents MMIF’s second investment in renewable energy, as it already has a mini-hydro project in Nayarit state. Four long-term contracts exist with MMIF to supply output to the Coahuila government, its municipalities of Torreon and Matamoros, and a private Mexican firm.
