Jinko Power submits EIS for US$500 million, 400 MW BESS project in Chile’s Atacama region

Chinese clean energy group Jinko Power has submitted an environmental impact statement for a 400 MW battery energy storage system in Chile’s Atacama region, with an estimated investment of about US$500 million. The BESS Amanecer project would deliver 2,734 MWh of lithium-ion storage and connect to Chile’s national grid via a new on-site 500 kV substation and transmission line near the existing Cumbre substation.
