Japan donates three hydroelectrical stations to El Salvador

Last week the government of Japan donated three hydroelectrical stations, each with an estimated value of US$560,000, to three universities in the country: Universidad de El Salvador, Universidad Centroamerciana and to the Universidad Don Busco.

The donation is meant to serve as a tool and provide expertise to local university students. Japan has estimated that in a five-year period the three hydro units could potentially benefit over 1,800 students. El Salvador has vast potential for hydroelectric energy and this donation could help to kickstart the development of this industry and the create local expertise to help serve the country and region.
