Jamaica has launched a Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) Feasibility Study to explore the country’s potential for cleaner aviation. Managed by ICF, the study will assess feedstocks, infrastructure, aviation demand, export opportunities, and the policy and investment environment, while addressing cost and scalability challenges. The initiative, announced at the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority in Kingston, supports the government’s low-carbon, climate-resilient development goals and highlights SAF’s potential to cut aviation lifecycle emissions by up to 80%.
