Jamaican Energy Prices Fall Dramatically

The price of a kilowatt hour in Jamaica has dropped in the past 12 months from .46 cents/kwh in 2012 to .26 cents/kwh today. According to the Jamaican Ministry of Energy & Mining, this reflects the adoption of substantial renewable energy and energy efficiency programs. Retrofits include “cool roofs”, solar power and improved air condition efficiencies. Read more about Jamaica’s ongoing programs here.
