Jamaica is advancing a US$56 million coastal protection project covering approximately 14.2 km of the Palisadoes Peninsula and Port Royal corridor. Proposed works include strengthening coastal barriers, restoring dunes and mangroves, improving vulnerable road sections and installing coastal monitoring systems. The initiative aims to protect Norman Manley International Airport, critical transportation infrastructure and surrounding communities from coastal erosion and storm surges.
