The Advancing Caribbean Energy Resilience (ACER): Island Energy Transformation four-part training series for island policymakers, regulators, and senior utility executives was designed to provide critical insight into tools and methodologies developed by U.S. National Laboratories to support energy sector transformation.

  • ACER Session 1: The fundamentals of electric power systems, including governance and institutional considerations for resilience
  • ACER Session 2: Approaches to identifying critical infrastructure and operational objectives
  • ACER Session 3: Understanding Utility Financial Viability Disruptors
  • ACER Session 4: Requirements of robust procurement processes

ACER Training Series goals: To provide senior government officials, island regulators and utility executives, with meaningful guidance and instruction on critical grid planning and procurement issues.

What attendees walked away with: An understanding of the breadth of challenges for island energy transitions, examples of successful transition from similar islands, tools and resources for supporting energy transitions.
