The IDB has approved a US$204.2 million financing package to connect Bolivia’s isolated northern Amazon electricity systems with Brazil’s grid while adding solar generation and battery storage to reduce diesel dependence in remote communities. The program will also modernize local distribution networks with smart grid technologies, cybersecurity upgrades, and advanced metering infrastructure.
