Hurricane Beryl triggers record US$44 million payout to Grenada from regional catastrophe insurance fund

Hurricane Beryl’s recent impact on the Caribbean led to a record US$44 million payout to Grenada from the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF). This payout includes US$42 million for cyclone insurance, US$1.1 million for fisheries insurance, and US$549,000 for excess rainfall.
