Rainer Schröer has been an Engineer in Technical Physics, since 2014 assigned to Chile as director of several energy projects for the GIZ (German Agency for International Cooperation) with focus on promotion of renewable energies, coal phase-out, green hydrogen, energy efficiency in the mining sector and water/energy nexus. From 2010 to 2014 in charge of the creation and coordination of a regional energy program for the GIZ in Central America. From 1994 to 2010 running his own company, engaging in energy and water related projects in Brazil focusing on business and investment consulting for German companies, due diligence for investment institutions, creation and coordination of a service company working in the field of deep water well rehabilitation and optimized pump systems operation, mainly for the Brazilian mining industry. International professional experience since 1982 in energy related issues in general, renewable energies, geothermal energy, energy efficiency, water supply and waste water treatment, operation and rehabilitation of deep water wells in countries like: Egypt, Indonesia, Kenya, Philippines, Argentina, Central America and Chile.
