Omar Paganini is the head of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of Uruguay since March 2020. An electrical engineer by profession, he has a master’s degree in Business Administration and courses at Stanford, Berkeley and Harvard. Before assuming as minister, he worked in the private sector in areas related to ministry that he heads today. He was an entrepreneur, director of an industry and consultant for the public company of telecommunications in Uruguay. He directed the Observatory of Energy and Sustainable Development of the Universidad Católica del Uruguay (UCU). He also held different positions in that university, among which were highlights the leadership of UCU Business School, a position he held until he was summoned by the President of the Republic to integrate his government.
