Valeria Bernal Malek is a Panamanian electrical engineer with extensive experience in energy policy analysis and advocacy. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (2020) from Florida State University and is a Fulbright graduate, through which she obtained her Master’s degree in Energy Systems Management (2024) from the University of San Francisco. Currently, Valeria works as the Plans and Programs Coordinator at the National Secretariat of Energy, where she specializes in the implementation of the Energy Transition Agenda and its corresponding Strategies. In January 2025, she participated in JICA’s Knowledge Co-Creation Program (KCCP) on hydrogen for decarbonization, strengthening her knowledge of emerging technologies for the energy transition.
