Director of Financing and Investment for Productive Sectors


Sergio Robredo works at the Vice Presidency of the Private Sector at CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, where he leads the design of innovative financial solutions to expand private investment in strategic sectors across the region. His current focus includes blended finance, climate-aligned investments, and strategic areas such as green hydrogen, agri-business, transition mining, and infrastructure, leveraging innovative instruments such as digital bonds and securitization structures.

Until recently, Sergio served as Director of Financing and Investment for the Productive Sectors Division at CAF, where he oversaw structured and corporate finance, financial advisory for PPPs, and led the institution’s impact investing platform, including equity investments and private equity and infrastructure funds.

Before joining CAF in 2020, he led Export and Agency Finance at Banco Santander in Mexico and held senior roles at Deutsche Pfandbriefbank in London. He began his career at BBVA, where he spent a decade in corporate and investment banking, working as a relationship manager and specialist in structured finance for Latin America (project and acquisition finance).

Sergio holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration, an MBA from IE Business School, and is both a CFA and FRM charterholder, with 26 years of experience in development and corporate & investment banking.
