Guyana to develop three solar parks in Region 10 with 15 MW capacity

Guyana plans to build three large-scale solar parks in Region 10, totaling 15 MW and supported by at least 22 MWh of battery storage. Valued at US$22.6 million, the projects are being constructed by a Chinese joint venture and are expected to connect to the grid by early 2027. These parks are part of the country’s Industrial-Scale Solar Photovoltaics Program, which aims to deploy 33 MW of solar power with storage across four regions to strengthen Guyana’s renewable energy capacity.
