Guyana partners with InterEnergy Group in US$15.6 million deal to modernize power grid and advance smart infrastructure

Guyana Power and Light (GPL) signs a US$15.6 million agreement with the Dominican Republic’s InterEnergy Group to help modernize and strengthen Guyana’s electricity system. Over the next two years, InterEnergy will provide engineering, project management, and advisory support to upgrade infrastructure, improve reliability, and lay the groundwork for a nationwide smart grid. The company will also oversee major energy projects, advise on operations and maintenance, and help design a roadmap for integrating advanced grid technologies across the country.
