Guatemala’s PEG-5 electricity tender, the largest in the country’s history, attracted 51 companies submitting bids totaling 4,700 MW, more than three times the requested 1,400 MW. About 2,000 MW of the proposals are for solar projects, highlighting strong competition for supply contracts of up to 15 years, set to begin between 2030 and 2033.
