EU companies lead investments in Latin America renewables

Companies from the European Union are leading the investments for renewable energy projects in Latin America. From 2005 to 2017 the investments towards the industry grew from 3% to 18%, representing two-thirds of the total companies involved in the sector, more for the industries of solar and wind energy projects.

This has been particularly important for the region since 46% of the total GHG produced comes from the energy industry. Today, and mainly driven by these investments, 24% of the total supply of energy comes from renewable sources, making Latin America an attractive market for international investment.
