UK and CDEMA sign MoU to strengthen Caribbean disaster preparedness ahead of 2025 hurricane season

Ahead of the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season, the UK has signed a new MoU with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) to enhance disaster preparedness and emergency response across the region. The agreement, signed in Barbados, includes adaptable emergency funding mechanisms such as an immediate mobilization fund to enable rapid deployment of response teams when local resources are limited.
