EDF Renewables seeks approval for 240 MW wind farm with energy storage in Chile

EDF Renewables has applied for an environmental permit in Chile to develop a 240 MW wind farm in the Coquimbo region, named the Quebrada Locayo project. The project, with an estimated investment of US$396 million, will include a 300 MWh battery energy storage system, 30 wind turbines, and supporting infrastructure. EDF plans to begin construction in October 2026, contingent on approval of the environmental impact assessment.
