The Dominican Republic has invested approximately US$1.08 million in two solar microgrid and battery storage projects that have brought electricity to 111 homes and two schools across eight rural communities in Elías Piña. The government is also planning additional rural electrification projects in the province in 2026, including new solar systems and grid extensions.
