Dominican representatives announced that following the acceptance of a financing package by the World Bank, Dominica’s geothermal project has made headway with the purchase of two 3.5MW turbine.
The Senior Advisor to the Dominica Geothermal Development Company, His Excellency Dr. Vince Henderson also advised the technical plan for the development of the project was secured.
The next steps for this project will include the final approval of tender documents, and once it is obtained, a call for tenders for an Engineering, Procurement and Construction contract “for the entire development of the plant”.
The geothermal plant will generate power to sell to DOMLEC, Dominica’s electricity service.
