Dominica signs up for Japanese climate change partnership

Dominica has signed up to participate in the Climate Change Partnership, a program funded by the Japanese government under the United Nations Development Program.

This project seeks to support countries in lowering emissions while improving energy security in an effort to mitigate climate change.

According to Yoko Ebisawa, Project Manager,

“Interventions under the project include supporting policy innovation through the development of a number of nationally appropriate mitigation action and national adaptation plans. In addition implementing actually technology that is both low emission and advances climate risk management including demonstration in target countries. I hope that this project will help the people of Dominica to reduce tragedies and build resilience for adaptation to climate change in the country.”
