Evenson Calixte

Evenson Calixte has received with honor his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at Université Quisqueya, Haiti in 1998. He went to Nagoya University in Japan in 1998 where he got his master’s degree in 2002 and PhD degree in Power System Engineering in December 2004. Dr. Calixte is currently a full-time professor at Quisqueya University and the Dean of the School of Science, Engineering and Architecture. He is also the Vice-rector for Academic Affairs at Université Quisqueya. He is a part-time lecturer in power systems at the School of Science of Haiti State University (Université d’Etat d’Haiti). His professional activities include serving as an energy advisor to the minister of environment of Haiti in 2012. In March 2017, he was appointed as the Energy Advisor to the late President of Haiti – Jovenel Moise. In October 2017, M. Calixte has also been appointed by presidential decree as the first General Manager of the National Energy Regulatory Authority for Haiti (ANARSE). His first activities at ANARSE include – Requests for Proposals to improve electricity access through solar PV Minigrids deployment – drafting a national electricity development plan and a Regulation for Mini Grids. Prof. Calixte has published many papers in power systems area. He is fluent in French, Creole, Japanese and English.
