Costa Rica to host first Pan-American Marine Energy Conference

The first Pan-American Marine Energy Conference in 2020 will aim to promote the research and development of marine energy technologies across the Americas.

This conference, which is being organised by the PAMEC Energy Association, will take place in Costa Rica’s capital, San José.

Similar research collaborations and conferences have been taking place in Europe and Asia.

“Marine renewable energy technologies covered by the conference programme include floating offshore wind, wave, tidal and ocean thermal currents, but also microgrid and integration of these resources into the grid”, said AMEC Energy Association President Bruce Cameron.

“Part of our work is also focused on building policy support for marine renewables across the region,” added Mr. Cameron.
