Colombia has announced over US$26.3 million in energy investments in the Vichada region, including the development of the 5 MW El Merey solar plant and rural electrification projects. The initiative is being led by the Ministry of Mines and Energy and IPSE and aims to expand clean energy access to more than 1,600 users in Puerto Carreño. The program also includes progress on a proposed binational electricity interconnection with Venezuela to improve regional energy security.
