A 405 MW energy storage project, the Pueblo Hundido BESS, has been submitted for environmental assessment in Diego de Almagro in the Atacama region of Chile. The project aims to store electricity generated by photovoltaic plants during the day for reinjection into the grid during peak evening demand.
