Chile has proposed a bill offering up to US$2.8 billion in tax credits between 2025 and 2030 to boost demand for green hydrogen and derivatives like ammonia and methanol. The plan includes six competitive tenders and a special tax regime for producers in Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica, with corporate tax exemptions and VAT relief on capital goods imports. In return, producers must contribute to regional development, reinforcing Chile’s position as a green hydrogen hub.
