Chile has inaugurated its first Fresnel solar steam pilot plant at Laguna Carén Park in Santiago to test concentrated solar heat for industrial applications. Developed by Fraunhofer Chile with the University of Chile and funded by the German government, the project aims to generate technical data to support scaling renewable heat in sectors like mining, agriculture, and water treatment.
